Trans* & Queer Liberation

Lavender Workshops is a high school Gender and Sexuality Alliance group curriculum developed for LGBTQIA+ students undergoing mental health concerns. The program consists of 8 monthly workshops for students on topics of students’ choices ranging from mental health and self-care strategies to advocacy and community organizing. Our workshops also fill gaps in sex education and history curriculum that are not LGBTQIA+ inclusive. Through organized workshops, LGBTQIA+ students will learn about their sexual and romantic orientation(s)- and gender- identities, mental health symptoms and causes, and strategies for self-care (including student rights advocacy) through a trauma-informed lens. Finally, students will practice skills through supervised peer mediation and creative final projects. A website will be developed to archive educational tools and resources as well as artistic final projects
