The U.S. Healthcare system is a difficult system to navigate and this is especially true for the undocumented immigrant population. With xenophobia’s prevalence in the country, discussions on healthcare reform reemerging, and increased immigration enforcement efforts, Connecticut Immigrant Health Collaborative (CIHC) is a multi-year campaign that aspires to make healthcare access more equitable among undocumented populations. CIHC focuses on teaching community members to know their healthcare rights through Know Your Rights sessions. CIHC will also get Connecticut health facilities in counties with the highest number of immigrant populations to commit to not working with Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) officers under any circumstance. These efforts would in turn be a step forward to making healthcare services more accessible to undocumented people in Connecticut.
