World of Colors is a multi-year project that aims to transform, promote, and expose Salvadoran cultural identity here in the United States within the Salvadoran diaspora through fashion and visual storytelling. Participants will have the opportunity to explore cultural identity and roots by wearing traditional artisan made clothes and accessories, that will be documented through photographs. Maybelline, through the World of Colors project, will also conduct individual interviews on what it means to be Salvadoran. World of Colors will be displayed via a blog and will possibly include a weekly podcast/show using the interviews that will serve as a safe space to have these conversations. Besides helping the Salvadoran diaspora to explore their cultural identity through fashion and conversation, World of Colors also aims to help Salvadoran artisans by buying their products, while also giving them the right recognition for their work.
