The Detroit Diligence Project (tDDP) is a grassroots movement that is geared towards bolstering the morale for those who are subject to the education system in the metro-Detroit area, an increased emphasis on secondary education in schools that are deemed at risk or failing. With the Detroit Public Schools Community District recently under fire for fiscal mismanagement, school board scandals, city-wide school closings, and teacher layoffs and strikes, this entity alone could benefit from the work of tDDP. The loosely regulated and often mishandled charter school network in the city limits presents even more danger. With The Detroit Diligence Project, the aim is to use advocacy work to help educate and engage students and families on the state of their education systems.
