Show Me Your Artist’s License is an open online platform that aims to highlight and connect Black artists to a broader audience including but not limited to art supporters, gallery owners, and museum curators. Historically Black artists and their work are not shown in galleries and exhibits as often as their white counterparts in America. The lack of representation of Black artists in galleries, museum exhibits, and media outlets also affects their livelihood and the value of their work. As a result, their work will have less of a chance to sell or be collected. Through SMYAL, Rinsha will work towards racial justice and equity for Black artists who are overlooked in the art world. SMYAL will create a directory that will be accessible to an online community in hopes of bringing light to talented Black artists nationwide.
