Racial Justice

Black Girls Heal (BGH) seeks to interrupt and mitigate the impacts of the school-to-prison
pipeline for Black girls in the Bronx, NY in two ways: (1) facilitating a healing justice community
process and developing a guidebook for Black young women at different levels of interaction
with the Bronx criminal legal system; and, (2) engaging these same participants in a process of
Youth-led Participatory Action Research (YPAR) to propose alternatives to punitive policies in
their schools and neighborhoods.
