The primary objective of this blueprint is to create the infrastructure to operate a student-run kitchen at Southern Connecticut State University by recycling and repackaging unused food. A sustainable student-run kitchen will require engaging school administration, dining services, and students. RECOVER will engage school administrators by having them sponsor the kitchen and sign a letter of intent to support a student-run kitchen only after their concerns are addressed and accounted for in planning. Subsequently, we will have them sign a letter of intent to support a student-run kitchen only after their concerns are addressed and accounted for in our planning. Lastly, RECOVER will enlist students as volunteers to gather the food, store it and deliver it.
