“Consent is Sexy,” etc.

Berenices work on her campus was focused on creating a campus climate that is intolerant of sexual assault, nonconsensual sex, and victim-blaming. She worked to build a culture of community accountability and a network of support for survivors of violence. To these ends, Berenice is created opportunities for students to engage in conversations about these issues through the implementation of a SlutWalk event that brought visibility to victim-blaming and assault on campus, Consent is Sexy workshops, and a broader publicity campaign, worked in collaboration with the sexual assault prevention coalition on campus. Berenice worked with student government, service providers on campus, and departments of Student Affairs and Residential Life.
