Creating Safe Schools for Illinois Students

Reese’s Blueprint tackled the issues of homophobia and transphobia in Illinois’ K-12 education system. Despite the 2010 anti-bullying legislation that was designed to make Illinoiss schools safer, acceptance of these two forms of oppression by teachers and administrators across the state stood in the way of creating safe spaces for all students of this legislation and thus individual administrators and teachers are not enforcing it, which Reese worked to undo.
