Increasing Student Group Allyship

Keely’s Blueprint addressed the lack of an outlet for different campus communities to engage in intergroup communication about issues of diversity and social injustice. She fought to create institutionalized mechanisms that would promote greater student group partnerships in order to create allies fighting for the rights and dignity of those outside their individual group memberships. In so doing, she helped promote a common understanding of intersecting social justice issues that led to a stronger sense of ally-ship across group memberships, thus breaking down stratified power dynamics and tranforming systems of (dis)advantage into a community built upon the dignity of all members.
