NMU Women’s Leadership Project

Kaylee’s Blueprint helped her establish a campus organization at Northern Michigan University designed to give women the tools they need to run for public office. This program was designed to pair women with strong leadership backgrounds (such as women elected to office on the state level) and partner them with girls who are interested in the similar types of change, with the ultimate goal of developing and strengthening civic engagement amongst young women at NMU. Through this project, she helped address the gross lack of qualified women in public office by providing young women with the tools they need to combat stereotypes and jump any hurdles thrown their way, granting them the confidence and skills needed to run and become elected to local, state and national levels.
