“Pathways to Consciousness”

“Pathways to Consciousness” is a program that aims to build gradual consciousness amongst  students of color. Through workshops and near peer instruction about the historical and social issues most affecting them and their communities. Students will be able to develop independent agency, reflectiveness and be prepared to encounter white supremacy in their post high school environments. These environments include but are not limited to higher education, and successfully navigate the hidden curriculum, or navigating microaggressions that may exist in the job force.

This program is built on the implicit belief that in order to fix the issue of unprepared leaders, college students and the self-defeating behavior exhibited by people of color we must first acknowledge that these problems exist.
