Gender Parity

As a program, we believe gender is a construct and a function of society and varies across contexts and cultures. In our work, Young People For is committed to challenging patriarchal and heteronormative conceptions of gender as they exist in the Western hemisphere as well as the gender binary as it manifests across sexualities and sexes. We are committed to centering the voices and experiences of those who identify beyond or outside of the gender binary –– specifically those who live at the intersection of identities disproportionately affected by structural violence. As we agitate for each individual’s right to express their gender identity freely and openly, we support YP4 Fellows conducting Blueprint for Social Justice projects on topics ranging from gender justice in corporate environments, the importance of gender and sexuality education, as well as non-binary solidarity campaigns.
