Adriana Ortiz is a junior at the University of New Mexico who is studying intercultural communication and studio art. She is a first-generation college student who migrated from Mexico at an early age. She has been an active student with Working Classroom, a non-profit arts and theater program for at-risk youth, for four years. She has been an intern, program manager for mural restorations, and apprentice for international and national artists. Adriana is also a member of New Mexico Dreamers In Action and has done advocacy work for her immigrant community. Her passion is creating art for social change, especially when that engages the youth.
