Sharmin Hossain is a Bangladeshi American Muslim raised in NYC. She has also been a student and part time social justice activist. She has been an active member of community organizations and grassroots campaigns concerning education rights and campaigns advocating for justice through marginalized communities. She has worked with Youth Activists, Youth Allies a nonprofit organization in NYC working around counter military recruitment and organizing around education issues. She has been an intern at the Council on American Islamic Relations, working in the communications department. She has been a featured writer on a few blogs, and an active participant in community forums and issues. She was involved with her campus organizing around the budget crisis and tuition hikes, and she created an environment of dialogue to diagnose and create viable solutions for issues within her community on campus.
