2016 YP4 National Summit Trainer Application

Posted August 29, 2016 by Saryn Francis

The YP4 National Summit is one of the most important events in the YP4 Fellowship. During Summit, our Fellows come together en masse for the first time and learn how to operationalize their visions for social justice in service to their communities. To make this event a success, we as YP4 staff each year depend upon members of the YP4 Alumni Network to serve as volunteer National Summit Trainers.
This year, we are actively recruiting trainers to support 114 Fellows. We are excited to work with members of the Alumni Network representing different class years, identities, and experiences with YP4 through this process.
As YP4 National Summit Trainers, you will (1) co-facilitate a series of core trainings for a breakout group of the Fellowship Class; (2) assist staff in the day-to-day operations of the Summit; and (3) have the opportunity to design and present shorter, elective trainings specific to your expertise — but more on that later.
National Summit Trainers are expected to be present on site for the duration of the YP4 National Summit from Friday, January 13th through Monday, January 16th. To make this possible, YP4 provides lodging and food to all National Summit Trainers. We also have a limited amount of funding to support folks’ travel to DC for the Summit, itself.
We also expect everyone facilitating at National Summit to attend a Training of Trainers (ToT) weekend here in DC. This year, we’ll hold ToT from Friday, 10/21 through Sunday, 10/23. As with National Summit, YP4 will cover food and lodging in DC for those attending. We can also support with travel expenses should you need.
If you can commit to this process and are interested in becoming a trainer, please complete this form by 11:59PM ET on Monday, 9/12
